ONTILITY teams with Midnite Solar, PV Powered and Industry Leaders to Teach Advanced Solar PV Course

HOUSTON, TEXAS (May 26, 2010) - ONTILITY will offer an Advanced Solar Design and Installation course on June 7 - 11, at its newly completed training facility in Houston, Texas. The course is designed to meet the needs of experienced solar installers, electricians or other solar energy professionals who have a solid understanding of solar fundamentals. Its objective is to significantly advance the knowledge and careers for those already involved in solar electric system installation.

The class includes in-depth electrical and mechanical design calculations, system performance testing and troubleshooting and project document preparation. Students registering for the class should have good electrical and mechanical skills and be familiar with the National Electrical Code.

The course will be taught by ONTILITY Lead Instructor and master electrician Eddie Haynes and Solar Community Principal Brandon Mathis, both NABCEP Certified Solar PV Installers.

Solar industry pioneer Robin Gudgel of Midnite Solar will lead the class on Friday, June 11. As founder of Outback Power Systems, Robin ushered in a whole new line of products that have quickly become the industry standard. Now Midnite Solar continues that trend of innovation and excellence. Robin will share his deep knowledge and experience; a rare opportunity to interact with an industry leader in a small seminar setting.

PV Powered’s Marc Johnson will lead the class on Wednesday for an in-depth look at inverters and the latest developments in grid-tie technology. Mr. Johnson has been in the solar power industry since 2001 and has extensive experience in solar system design and optimization. Marc holds an engineering degree from New Mexico State University where he was a student of John Wiles in 1989.
