Zachary Embry
Director - Partner/Installer Enablement
Zachary leads ONTILITY’S Partner/Installer Enablement initiatives. Zach has deep experience in the renewable energy sector working on a variety of activities that range from renewable energy system installation and design, solar thermal and solar electric education and public outreach, to implementing renewable energy related policies at both state and local levels. Zach is an experienced renewable energy installer of photovoltaic, domestic solar hot water, solar hydronic heating and micro-hydro systems for both the commercial and residential sectors. Aside from his technical familiarity of renewable energy systems he has previously acted as the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar America Cities Program Lead for the City of New Orleans where he served as the City’s technical and policy advisor on renewable energy issues. He worked closely with City Officials and the U.S. Department of Energy to implement renewable energy related policies for both the Mayor’s Office and the Office of Community Development. While working for the City of New Orleans he helped train city code officials and contractors alike. Zachary also played a key part in streamlining the local utility’s net-metering and interconnection procedures and requirements as well as applying for and securing additional Federal Grants for renewable energy and energy efficient projects for the City of New Orleans. Zachary received his BA in economics from Hampden-Sydney College.
